This Resilience Improvement Plan is designed to enhance Kentucky's readiness to prepare for, respond to, and withstand future extreme weather and natural hazard events that impact the transportation system. The Plan employs a risk-based assessment, considering the probability of occurrences, the extent of potential damages, and the importance of the transportation assets involved. The strategies outlined in this Plan aim to bolster transportation resilience, further supporting the overarching mission of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC).

This study field-tested two AI-enabled vehicle classification approaches—an inductive loop signature system and a video detection system—to automate commercial truck and broader vehicle volume counts on I‑93 in Concord, New Hampshire. Both technologies achieved over 90% agreement with NHDOT ground‑truth data under free‑flow and congested conditions, though accuracy was affected by occlusion, off‑center vehicles, lane changes, and floating wheels. Additional winter testing is planned to assess performance in severe weather, and results can help state DOTs select cost‑effective tools for automated truck volume and classification data collection.

The report, created by the Transportation Asset Management Expert Task Group (TAM ETG), addresses the concerns of agencies facing a rise in the proportion of their pavement and bridge networks deteriorating to Fair condition. The TAM ETG members identified the factors contributing to this situation and initiated discussions emphasizing the importance of managing this increasing percentage of their networks based on TAM principles. The findings from these discussions form the basis of this document, which aims to: provide State and local transportation agencies with an understanding of why prioritizing investments in assets in Fair condition is more effective than heavily investing in those in Poor condition, and encourage the adoption of more proactive lifecycle planning in investment decisions.

Iowa’s TAMP now includes the entire Primary Highway System, the complete highway network owned/maintained by Iowa DOT. The 2023 TAMP has a section for performance gap identification. Iowa's 2023 TAMP has sections for Asset Inventory and Condition, Life Cycle Planning, Performance Assessment, Risk Management, Financial Plan and Investment Strategies, and Process Improvements.

NMDOT seeks to develop a Resilience Improvement Plan to meet the requirements and cost share incentive of the PROTECT Formula Program. In alignment with the PROTECT program guidance and in support of the New Mexico Governor’s climate action initiative, NMDOT will build on the Resiliency 1.0 Study to integrate new data sources into the GIS-based analysis framework, apply likelihood and probability analysis, integrate guidance from FHWA Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Framework, and identify key priorities for each NMDOT district.

The 2022 (published 2023) Illinois DOT TAMP describes Illinois DOT's plans to use performance data to drive investment decisions that align with national transportation asset management initiatives. Notably, the newest iteration of IDOT's TAMP includes a new chapter on Performance Measures, Targets, and Trends.

The ADOT 2050 Long-Range Transportation Plan is currently in progress, and anticipated in 2023. The Arizona Department of Transportation is currently updating their Long Range Transportation Plan to provide a blueprint for the state's transportation system over the next 25 years. The plan will establish strategic priorities, goals, and objectives to guide ADOT's transportation investments.

The plan is currently in the "Public Outreach" phase. In-person public meetings and a virtual telephone town hall will be held in central, northern and southern Arizona in early Spring 2023.
